The annual Sean Doran Memorial Cup Game was played on Sunday past in McGleenan Park between Keady Michael Dwyers and Harps.  Although the result is not the most important aspect on a day such as this, the Harps ran out comfortable winners having built up a large half-time lead with a gale blowing at their backs.  The second half of the match was much more competitive and overall there was some lovely football played by both teams and some beautiful scores were taken.

A real struggle between the 2 teams.

A large crowd turned out to support the event and gave generously for this very worthy cause in memory of local boxing legend Sean Doran, all proceeds raised by the event will be donated to a charity chosen by the Doran Family, on this occasion that is Newry Hospice.

After the football was finished, a presentation was held in the Quiet Man Bar in Keady and food was provided by our senior team sponsor McGleenans Centra.  Harps, who won the trophy last year, were presented once again with the cup.  Keady Michael Dwyers would like to congratulate the Harps for their victory on the day and wish them good luck for the coming season.

We would also like to thank all those who came out to support this event, those who helped out, donated or who volunteered to make this event possible.  We look forward to being given an opportunity to take the trophy back to Keady next year.
